What were you thinking, Tom?!?

One thing for sure, Tom either have a very bad eye sight, OR, he's not observant to his surrounding.
Well, I couldn't blame Tom for being attracted to the painting of lovely flowers.
I mean, it's in his face, it's attractive, it's beautiful.
But however, Tom could have flew around the room a little longer before settling for the painting.
Because of that, he missed the REAL flower, which caused him to not me able to carry out the transferring of pollen.
Which will lead to him not about to carry the pollen to other flower.
Which then again might cause the extinction of that specific flower.
WHICH THEN AGAIN caused him not to be able to make honey.
WHICH THEN AGAIN AGAIN place the bee kingdom in some kind of danger because there's no honey.
Okay, someone will have to correct me up there.
But because of muddle-headed Tom, the consequence is huge and unbearable.
This could be applied to our life.
TADAAA
You see, humans are visual animal, meaning, we are easily attractive to things that perceived beautiful to us.
I don't disagree with that, beautiful thing attracts to me more easily than things that are, if I shall say, normal, or plain.
However, what we often neglect is that the fact that physical attribute are not everything we are looking for.
In Tom's case, a painting of beautiful flower with no real value (to carry out pollination), is a painting that's useless to Tom.
Because Tom could only admire the flower, and that's all he could do.
But instead, the real flower, though took longer time to notice, was what Tom looked for.

Beauty may define one's popularity, but it's the personality that defines yourself.

I'm ending this post with a song which I find very relatable to Tom, it's titled "Fading flower" by Yuna, a Malaysia Indie Singer.

Break the rules

He is a person who uses vulgar word like it's a greeting.
He is a person who has thoughts like imaginative 5 year old.
People who reads would have know him.
Well, people who reads Chinese.
He has written dozens of book, he directed 2 movies.
He is none other than Giddens Ko,九把刀.

It is actually kind of uncomfortable to type in English since he is a Chinese author, however, for the seek for my grade, I will try my best to type in English.

I came across this author from his latest hit movie, "You're the apple of my eye".
It's actually his own love story when he was still a hot-blooded teenager.
It could have ended up like those typical love novel that you could pick on shelf, read a few pages, and guessed it ending.
But no.
Gidden is no joke.
It's true that love story has only two endings, it's either they are together, or they are not.
But what makes a good love story is none other than the journey.
Gidden's journey of Love maybe a bit plain in layman's term, however he has captivated the reader with his playful use of words, mind dialogues, and kuso characters.
But this is not my favourite book from him

My favourite book(s) is this pathetic love story.
A story between a lover who aren't fated to be together, ending up with them separated by death.
If you think that this is your typical "It's the end" story, you're terribly wrong.
The story doesn't end when the male lead dies, instead, that's when the story starts.
I shall not spoil the story line by telling you the content, but this is the story that brought me to tears.
NO JOKE, TO TEARS.
Gidden is not a man who's full of jokes and vulgarities, there's this sensitive and emotional side of him too.
He carefully written out the internal struggles of the ill-fated lovers.
He could make you notice the little things in life that you could not notice.

Before I entered NAFA, I was in MI studying H2 Chinese.
It's a subject that almost everyone dreaded, but I loved it.
I loved that Chinese, with just a few words, could express a way deeper message.
I was aspired to be a writer, a writer like Gidden, one who's quirky,  break the rules of traditional writing.
Even though I'm no longer studying Chinese, however this will not stop my passion for Chinese.
I will (try to) continue write posts that everyone can relate to ;)

Finally crossed the road

We finally had our presentations!
Hurry to closure of 100 ways to: Cross Road.
It's great to be working with such fun-loving and responsible group mates :)

Heated discussions was held as groups go up to present their own "100 ways to".
Some ideas was deemed as irrational, unrealistic, creative and what not. But hey, however in the end of the day what matter most is that we enjoyed what we came out with.
But it's also good to see that class mates are paying attentions to the presentation and give a piece of their mind.
Constructive feedbacks rocks \m/

The above two are drawn by Yours Truly :)
However if I have to choose the most practical one, it would definitely be to roll yourself across the road.
Floating maybe in the near future?
To roll does not require as much energy as walking does, all you need to do it to curve your body up, and roll.
There's no need for hand-leg coordination.
No need to worry if you look good when walking.
No need to worry if hair is blowing your direction.
You just need to, roll, and roll, and roooooooollllll.
And the next moment you know, you're there at your destination.

Till the next post!

100 ways to what? Cross road?

100 different ways to cross road. Who in the right mind would want to cross road in 100 different ways.
My group maybe.
We were pondering whether to squeeze lemon, kill cockroach, or to use umbrella, but in the end, we settled with our everyday challenge; crossing road.
Maybe because it is closer to us, maybe because we don't have to think so hard.

It is definitely joyous to work in my group, with such "fun-loving" group mates.
They are the one who incorporate fun into studious, making serious things not so serious, hmm, maybe a little not too serious. But hey, life is about having fun and doing what you like right?

But as we get to work, everyone is getting more into the task. Don't even think they noticed me taking photos of them. Good.

(just in case you don't know what "rooooll" is)

This is for all the lazy bum out there (including me), who would not bear to use a single strength.

How you cross the road when it's Zombie apocalypse. Do this to save your life.

And so, after two rounds of brain wrecking and much giggles, we present the (almost) done work:

C'mon, it's creative and funny, right?
---

Who could have thought that we could cross the road in (almost) 100 different ways.
Everyday, when we accounted a challenge, we could only strive to think the solution in the form textbook-perfect-answer. However, we forgot that there is always more than one way to reach our destination, like how we could go from Ang Mo Kio to Pasir Ris via MRT, bus, or even taxi, maybe plane in the near future.
If you are willing to crook your head to one side, and think a little out of the box, the result will surprise you, just like how you could cross the road by cartwheel, Narnia, or a fashionable cat walk.

Of course, the people who helped you to solve your challenge are the key point too. Without them, I couldn't come up with a (almost) 100 ways to: Cross Road. Thank you group mates for your undying creativity and dead brain cells. May them rest in peace.

The Journey of Oreo Cheesecake & Cappuccino

There is a reason why people are only interested in the End. Because the journey is long and tedious.
But today, I am forcing you to watch the journey, it is the journey that shapes the End.
Also, I am going to teach you how to make Oreo Cheesecake and cappuccino :)

The Journey of Oreo Cheesecake

All the Oreos will be dumped into the Ziploc bag and you will need to crush them up. Just like how we were left broken and alone when we are in our low times.

Cream cheese for all the cheese lovers 😍

You are going to load up your bowl with heavenly cream cheese and condensed milk. After that you will whisked them together and formed them into a creamy paste.

It is so unappetising when it is not properly whisked. The society do not recognise you when you are all screwed and unsuccessful.

But as you continue to whisked with all your effort, it pays off. Like life, all hard work pays off.

End product :D You can decorate it with ribbon and take an Instagram worthy picture.

The Journey of Cappuccino

Press for 1 shot of coffee and let it flow against the wall of the cup. This is to ensure that there will be no visible bubbles.

You will then prepare your milk and steam it. Milk steamed should be foamy yet velvety. Mhmm milk.

Pour high so that the milk will break through the crema.

And then low so that the froth will come out.

Decorate it with chocolate syrup. Draw patterns!

End product :D Done by my fellow barista who will be getting enlisted into NS tomorrow. Have fun in Tekong!

We do not all have a glamorous journey in life. We may start out pretty and perfect, but as the journey gets tough, we are bound to fall, to get beaten down, to get screwed up. However as the journey goes on, our life is getting beaten into a more decent shape. And in the end of the day, you get to enjoy life with Oreo Cheesecake and Cappuccino :)

"The going gets tough, the tough gets going".
